MADISON - St. Norbert College committed an own goal in the second half, a marker that proved to be the difference in a 3-2 non-conference loss to Edgewood College at Warner Park.

The Green Knights (1-3) were trying to battle back from a 2-0 deficit when Mary Burke scored her first goal of the season just 1 minute 29 seconds before halftime to get to within 2-1. Just 3:23 into the second half, a failed St. Norbert clearing attempt found its way into the net for the Eagles' third goal.

Shannon Jung pulled St. Norbert back to within one goal at 54:21 when she finished a scramble following a corner kick, but the Green Knights couldn't get the equalizer.

St. Norbert outshot Edgewood 19-15. Sarah Platzer made four saves for St. Norbert, while Tori Fortney made six saves for the Eagles.
