Two Teams Earn Region Ranking Mention

DE PERE - St. Norbert College men's soccer is ranked fifth in the North Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and women's cross country is ranked sixth in the Midwest Region according to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Men's soccer, which is 5-0 on the season, moved up two spots from last week after posting a 3-2 road win Friday at Carthage College and collecting a 7-0 home win Sunday over Finlandia University. The University of St. Thomas is No. 1 in this week's North Region rating, followed by Loras College, Luther College and Wartburg College.

Gustavus Adolphus College is sixth and UW-Oshkosh is seventh, followed by St. Olaf College, College of St. Scholastica and UW-Superior.

The women's cross country ranking is the highest for the Green Knights in the history of the poll. The University of Chicago is ranked No. 1 in the region, followed by UW-La Crosse, Washington (Mo.) University, Aurora University and UW-Stevens Point. UW-Eau Claire follows in seventh, with Augustana College, North Central College and Wheaton College rounding out the region's Top 10.

St. Norbert won its Tom Barry Invitational on Aug. 30, and placed second behind Aurora at the Aurora Invitational on Sept. 5. The Green Knights were fifth this past Saturday competing against several Division I and Division II teams at the UW-Parkside Midwest Open.
