Green Knights Come Off Hiatus With Win

BELOIT - St. Norbert College had no trouble coming off a 13-day break from game action by posting a 4-0 win over Beloit College in both teams' Midwest Conference opener at the Strong Stadium Complex.

The Green Knights (2-3, 1-0 MWC) got a 2-0 lead thanks to the foot of Kaitlin Schmitz. Schmitz scored the first goal at the 21 minutes 20 seconds mark, and then added another just 2:34 later to give her a team-high five goals this season. Shannon Jung assisted on the first goal.

Danielle Harris gave St. Norbert a 3-0 lead with an unassisted goal at 76:42. Fiona Hehir followed with her first collegiate goal with an unassisted score at 85:16.

St. Norbert outshot Beloit 15-8 and held a 7-2 advantage on corner kicks. Sarah Platzer made two saves in 80:40 of work, while Maddie Plinska tallied one save in 9:20 of relief.
