Green Knights Fall to Ripon But Still Alive for Post-Season

DE PERE - St. Norbert College dropped a 2-0 decision to Ripon College in a Midwest Conference match at Schneider Stadium, but is still alive for a MWC Tournament berth despite the loss.
St. Norbert (7-9-1, 5-3-1 MWC) can still clinch a spot in the tournament with a win over Carroll University on Saturday. Carroll is 5-2-2 in the MWC, good for 17 points. St. Norbert can finish with 19 points with a win.
Ripon (11-6, 7-2) clinched a MWC Tournament berth for the first time behind goals from Kaylee Tadych and Paige Birschbach in the 28th and 55th minutes, respectively.
St. Norbert outshot Ripon 22-9 but the Red Hawks had a 7-2 edge in corner kicks. Birschbach's marker came off a corner kick.
Sarah Platzer made five saves for St. Norbert, while Sidney Blodgett made 10 stops for the Red Hawks.
