St. Norbert Ends Season With Shutout of Carroll

DE PERE - St. Norbert College finished the regular season with a 2-0 win over Carroll University in a Midwest Conference match at Schneider Stadium, but will not be advancing to the MWC Tournament.
The Green Knights (11-4-3, 5-2-3 MWC) finished with 18 points in the MWC standings, one point short of tying for third place with Carroll, Illinois College and Monmouth College - which all had 19 points. Only the top four teams make the MWC Tournament.
St. Norbert took the lead at 14:56 when Nathan Angell took a cross from Jim Blisk and chested the ball past Carroll goalkeeper Jacob Tincher for his seventh goal o fthe season.
The Green Knights boosted their lead to 2-0 when Alex Schumacher banged home a rebound at 69:29 for his second marker of the season. Patrick Hehir was credited with an assist.
St. Norbert outshot Carroll 19-17 and had a 5-0 edge in corner kicks. Scott Faul made 11 saves for his fifth shutout of the season.
