St. Norbert Sweeps St. Benedict

DE PERE - St. Norbert College swept a non-conference series with College of St. Benedict with a 4-0 triumph at the Resch Olympic Pavilion.

The Green Knights (2-0), who won the series opener 4-2, got 19 saves from freshman goaltender Leigh Grall in her collegiate debut.

St. Norbert took a 1-0 lead late in the first period when Myranda Hayes scored at 17:51, with Katie Conlon and Lexi Pyykkonen assisting.

The Green Knights, who had to kill off five Blazers' power plays in the second period, scored late in the middle stanza to take a 2-0 lead. Jillian Kostack netted her second goal of the season with assists from Rachael Goodrow and Allie Patrick.

St. Norbert closed out the win with two third-period goals. Hayes notched her third goal of the season off helpers from Conlon and Malin Hoglund at 14:24. Emily Chandler netted her first goal of the season with assists from Kosteck and Emily Bonrager at 18:10.

Both teams were 0-for-5 on the power play, and St. Norbert held a 37-19 shots advantage. Jenna Traut made 33 saves for St. Benedict (0-2).
