LAKE FOREST, Ill. - St. Norbert College tied a school record with its 16th consecutive win with a 3-1 triumph over Lake Forest College in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.

The Green Knights (5-0, 5-0 NCHA) won the last 11 games of last season before winning their first five this year. St. Norbert also won 16 consecutive games from Feb. 16, 2008-Nov. 21, 2008.

St. Norbert scored the first goal when Michael Hill finished an unassisted marker at 10:26 of the first period, his third goal of the year. Lake Forest (2-2, 1-2) knotted the score 1-1 just 30 seconds later on a goal by Luke Swardenski.

The score would remain deadlocked until late in the second period when Erik Cooper registered his third marker of the season with just 46 seconds left in the stanza. Cullen Bradshaw and Tanner Froese assisted.

The Green Knights' defense would make that goal hold up the entire third period, and salted the game away on Ross Pavek's empty-net goal with 10 seconds to go. Kyle Lee and Marian Fiala were credited with assists.

St. Norbert outshot Lake Forest 40-32. The Green Knights were 0-for-4 on the power play, while the Foresters were 0-for-2. David Jacobson made 31 saves for his 67th career victory, while Leo Podolsky made 37 stops in the loss for Lake Forest.
