OSHKOSH - St. Norbert College shot just over 56 percent from the floor en route to opening the 2014-15 season with a 67-50 win over UW-Oshkosh in a non-conference win at Kolf Sports Center.

It was the Green Knights' seventh consecutive win in the series over the Titans, and was St. Norbert's 43rd win in its last 48 games.

St. Norbert held a 17-16 lead with 7:29 remaining in the first half. Andrew Schwoerer and Steven Hofacker combined for 10 points as the Green Knights built a 27-18 lead with 3:35 left before halftime. Oshkosh's Sean Dwyer hit a 3-pointer 20 seconds later, but Mitch Winter countered with a triple of his own to jump start a 9-0 run to close out the first half. Hofacker followed with a conventional three-point play, and Austin Elliott canned a 3-pointer with 9 seconds left for a 36-21 halftime lead.

Oshkosh slowly crept back into the game in the second half, getting to within 43-35 with 14:06 to go on a Kyle Bolger basket. St. Norbert would scored the next five points on a 3-pointer by Elliott and a hoop by Schwoerer, and Oshkosh would get no closer than 11 points the rest of the way.

Schwoerer led St. Norbert with 20 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. Hofacker added 16 points and totaled nine blocked shots, easily eclipsing the previous school record of five. Elliott had nine points, while Winter added seven.

St. Norbert was 27-for-48 (56.3 percent) from the floor and was 5-for-7 (71.4 percent) from beyond the three-point arc. The Green Knights also held a 35-25 rebounding advantage.

Oshkosh was led by 17 points by A.J. Mueller, while Alex Olson added 12 points and Dwyer 10. Oshkosh shot 35.2 percent from the floor, making 19 of 54 field-goal attempts.
