Winning Streak Snapped in Tie With Lake Forest

DE PERE - St. Norbert College saw its school-record 16-game winning streak snapped with a 2-2 tie against Lake Forest College in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Cornerstone Community Center.

St. Norbert (5-0-1, 5-0-1 NCHA) fell behind in the early going when Lake Forest's Billy Kent intercepted a turnover and finished with an unassisted goal 6 minutes 8 seconds into the game. The Green Knights answered at 10:28 of the first period when Michael Hill connected on a power-play marker with Tyler Zepeda and Sam Higgins assisting.

The Green Knights took a 2-1 lead when Kyle Lee scored his second goal of the season at 10:52 of the second period, with Noah Nelson and Chris Rial assisting.

Lake Forest (2-2-1, 1-2-1) knotted the score at 2-2 when Charlie Stein converted a power-play goal at 8:10 of the third period.

In the five-minute overtime session, both teams had three shots on goal.

St. Norbert outshot Lake Forest 44-26. The Green Knights were 1-for-8 on the power play, while the Foresters were 1-for-6. Tony Kujava made 24 saves for St. Norbert, while Leo Podolsky made 42 stops for the Foresters.
