Green Knights Push Unbeaten Streak to 20 With Sweep of Bengals

DE PERE - St. Norbert College extended its unbeaten streak to 20 with an 8-0 win over Buffalo State to sweep a non-conference series at the Cornerstone Community Center.
St. Norbert, 8-0-1 this season and 19-0-1 in its last 20 games dating back to last season, outscored the Bengals (1-5-2) by a 15-0 margin in the two-game series.
The Green Knights led 1-0 after the first period after Erik Cooper scored a shorthanded goal at the 8:45 mark.
St. Norbert pulled away in the second period when it scored five times - including three power-play markers. Tanner Froese scored on the man advantage at 4:48, and Cooper followed with a power-play marker of his own at 7:52. George Malliaras scored at even strength at 9:59, and Mason Baptista added another 5-on-5 goal at 18:19. Michael Hill then scored a power-play goal with 0.2 seconds remaining in the period for a 6-0 lead.
Marian Fiala scored for the first time this season at 12:15 of the third period, and Pijus Rulevicius added a power-play marker at 15:13 to close out the scoring.
Hill had two assists for a three-point game, while Cullen Bradshaw had three assists. Sam Dougherty and Tyler Zepeda had two assists apiece. Malliaras and Baptista both had one assists for two-point games.
David Jacobson made 17 saves to fashion his 18th career shutout, second all-time in Division III. It was Jacobson's 69th career win, fourth all-time in Division III annals.
St. Norbert outshot Buffalo State 45-17. Ian Sylves made 37 saves for the Bengals. St. Norbert was 4-for-6 on the power play, while Buffalo State was 0-for-5.
