St. Norbert Salvages Series Split With Augsburg

DE PERE - St. Norbert College gained a split in its two-game non-conference series with Augsburg College after posting a 4-1 win at Resch Olympic Pavilion.
The Green Knights (8-6-1), who lost 1-0 to the Auggies (6-5-2) in the series opener, dominated play in the first period to take control. St. Norbert held a 17-3 shots-on-goal advantage in the first 20 minutes of action to take a 2-0 lead.
Katie Conlon put St. Norbert ahead early with a goal at 1:31 of the first period. Emily Bondrager registered her first collegiate goal at 15:03 to put the Green Knights ahead 2-0.
St. Norbert moved out to a 3-0 lead after Bondrager scored again, this time at 6:21 of the second period.
The Auggies cut into the deficit with a power-play goal by Megan Robertson just 53 seconds into the third period, but the visitors couldn't cut into the St. Norbert lead any further. Ali Parker's empty-net goal with 1:48 remaining was the final goal.
Kenna Farrey had two assists for St. Norbert.
St. Norbert outshot Augsburg 37-19. Leigh Grall made 18 saves for St. Norbert, while Rebecca Sonnek had 33 stops for the Auggies.
The Green Knights were 0-for-3 on the power play, while Augsburg was 1-for-3.
