MONMOUTH, Ill. - St. Norbert College saw a seven-point lead late in regulation time evaporate and ended up dropping a 60-58 overtime decision to Monmouth College in a Midwest Conference game at Glennie Gym.

The Green Knights suffered their first conference loss in falling to 13-3, 10-1. Monmouth improved to 7-9, 6-5.

St. Norbert took a 52-45 lead with 2:39 left in regulation on a Heidi Van Sistine basket. The Fighting Scots answered on their next possession with a conventional three-point play by Paige Nord. Following a pair of St. Norbert missed jumpers, Nord hit a layup to cut the deficit to 52-50 with 1:41 left.

The Green Knights couldn't score and Monmouth's Allison Collins followed with one free throw with 1:36 left to make it 52-51. St. Norbert had a chance to add to its lead with 45 seconds left but missed a pair of free throws. Nord split a pair of free throws with 25 seconds left to tie the game at 52-52 and St. Norbert couldn't get off a potential game-winning shot.

Monmouth continued its run in overtime by scoring the first seven points of the extra session. The Green Knights answered with a 6-0 run to get to within 59-58 on a Brianna Byrne jumper with 34 seconds left, but St. Norbert would not get another shot attempt the rest of the game.
