DeVillers Leads Green Knights at Pre-National Meet

HANOVER, Ind. - The St. Norbert College men's cross country team placed 11th at the NCAA Division III Pre-National Invitational held at Hanover College.

The Green Knights scored 318 points for their 11th-place finish out of 20 teams. Allegheny College won the event with 62 points, well ahead of runner-up Trinity College's 106 points.

Alex DeVillers paced St. Norbert, placing 41st overall with a time of 26:47. The Green Knights' next three finishers were all grouped together seven seconds apart. John Barrett placed 53rd overall with a time of 26:57. Mackenzie Laska ran a time of 27 minutes to finish 58th, while Jon O'Brien was 61st with a time of 27:04.

Gavin Strawn rounded out the Green Knights' scoring quintet with a 120th-place finish of 28:23.

Also running for the Green Knights were Austin Gabrielse (144th, 28:45), Eric DeSalvo (158th, 29:07), Brian Curran (187th, 30:22), Mike Buettner (188th, 30:22), Matt Leser (192nd, 30:32) and Ben Knapp (200th, 30:53).

A total of 230 runners competed.
