St. Norbert Routs Lawrence

DE PERE - St. Norbert College turned in another stellar defensive effort with a 73-27 win over Lawrence University in a Midwest Conference game on Connie Tilley Court at Schuldes Sports Center.

The Green Knights (16-3, 13-1 MWC) held the Vikings to 21.7 percent shooting from the floor, as the visitors were just 10-for-46 from the field.

St. Norbert wasted little time building a lead, jumping out to a 7-0 lead on a Rachel Hagge 3-pointer and four free throws from Brianna Byrne. The Green Knights held a 10-5 lead at the 13:16 mark before embarking on a 20-0 run to pull away. Jill Kleiman had eight points during the run, including a pair of 3-pointers.

The Green Knights, who led 34-12 at halftime, eventually led by as many as 50 points at 64-14 with 7:41 remaining.

St. Norbert had four players in double figures. Byrne led the Green Knights with 16 points, while Heidi Van Sistine added 11 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. Kleiman and Stephanie Weigman both had 10 points apiece. The Green Knights shot 40.7 percent (24-for-59) from the floor.

Lawrence was led by Elizabeth Arco, who had seven points and eight rebounds.
