DE PERE - St. Norbert College placed three men's basketball players on the 2015 All-Midwest Conference team, announced today by the league office.

Senior forward Andrew Schwoerer was a first-team All-MWC choice and was named the Midwest Conference Co-Player of the Year with Ripon College sophomore guard Ty Sabin. Senior guard Austin Elliott was also a first-team All-MWC honoree, while senior center Steven Hofacker was an honorable mention selection.

Schwoerer, who was a second-team All-MWC pick in 2012 and 2013 and an honorable mention choice in 2011, is St. Norbert's third MWC Men's Basketball Player of the Year. The Valders native joins Nathan Hoffmann (2002) and Brandon Gries (2014). Schwoerer, who currently ranks seventh on St. Norbert's career scoring list with 1,390 points, is averaging 16.7 points per game and 7.2 rebounds per game while shooting 60.8 percent from the floor.

Elliott, a Danbury native, is currently averaging 14.1 points per game and is dishing out a team-high 4.5 assists per game. He is shooting 50.7 percent from the floor.

Hofacker, an Eau Claire native, is averaging 10.0 points and 5.7 rebounds per game while shooting 60.1 percent from the floor. Hofacker has also collected 46 blocked shots this season.

St. Norbert coach Gary Grzesk was named MWC Coach of the Year for the third consecutive year and the fourth time in his career.

The Green Knights, ranked No. 3 in the D3hoops.com Top 25, enter Friday's Midwest Conference Tournament semifinal game against Ripon at 22-1 overall, and won their fifth MWC championship in six years with an unblemished 18-0 record.
