Green Knights Return to Action With Split

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College returned from Eastern vacation with a split of non-conference dual matches held at Western Racquet and Fitness Club and Four Seasons Tennis Club. The Green Knights blanked Edgewood College 9-0 before dropping a 5-4 decision to regionally ranked Carthage College.

St. Norbert (18-6) opened with a split in the singles matches against Carthage (17-1), played first due to court availability. Katherine Ake topped Max Mella 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2, and Nancy Chybowski beat Abbi Howell 6-4, 5-7, 10-4 at No. 3. Erika Chitko topped Taylor Bolyard 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.

Anna Gosz and Ashley Randazzo lost in three sets at Nos. 5 and 6 singles, respectively.

Gosz and Ashley Randazzo claimed St. Norbert's lone doubles win, a 9-7 victory over Howell and Kirsten Peterson.

St. Norbert had little trouble with Edgewood (15-7), the champion of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference. Elizabeth Manlick and Chybowski beat Morgan Wilson and Anna Miles 8-5 at No. 1 doubles, while Ake and Chitko bested Laura Olsen and Ashli Paulson 8-4 at No. 2. Gosz and Randazzo blanked Sabrina Fuller and Molly Protz 8-0 at No. 3.

Gosz and Randazzo both registered 6-0, 6-0 wins at Nos. 5 and 6 singles over Fuller and Bradley, respectively. Manlick defeated Wilson 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1, while Ake beat Miles 6-0, 6-3. Chybowski defeated Olsen 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 at No. 3, while Chitko beat Paulson 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4.
