St. Norbert Reaches 20-Win Plateau for Second Consecutive Season

CEDARBURG - St. Norbert College hit the 20-win mark for the second time in school history - and four the second straight season - with a pair of non-conference dual wins at Cedarburg High School. The Green Knights topped Concordia University Wisconsin 9-0 and UW-Stevens Point 8-1.

St. Norbert (20-6) was 24-5 last season and has at least four dual matches remaining this season.

The Green Knights cruised past Concordia in a match that lasted just over two hours. Elizabeth Manlick and Nancy Chybowski beat Emily McCormick and Michaela Wagner 8-2 at No. 1 doubles. Katherine Ake and Erika Chitko topped Hannah Tresedder and Anna Shanks 8-3 at No. 2 doubles. Anna Gosz and Ashley Randazzo defeated Ashley Knoll and Alisia Macioch 8-1 at No. 3 doubles.

Manlick beat Tresedder 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Ake followed at No. 2 with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph over McCormick. Chybowski blanked Sabine Jacobsen 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3, while Chitko also shutout Jessica Sapp 6-0, 6-0. Gosz defeated Wagner 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5, while Lizzy Tews beat Macioch 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6.

Against Stevens Point, Gosz and Randazzo spun a shutout at No. 3 doubles over Samantha Gengler and Kaylee Roberts with an 8-0 win. Ake and Chitko bested Rosie Buckley and Erin Lemmer 8-3 at No. 2 doubles, while Manlick and Chybowski beat Katelyn Asfeld and Nicole Thorson 8-2 at No. 1.

Ake beat Buckley 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, and Chybowski picked up a 7-6 (10-8), 6-1 win over Lemmer at No. 3. Chitko beat Thorson 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4 singles, and Gosz beat Gengler 6-3, 6-0 at No. 5. Tews blanked Roberts 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
