Green Knights Finish Highly at First Two Spring Meets

VERNON HILLS, Ill. - St. Norbert College opened the spring portion of the 2014-15 season by placing highly in its first two meets April this weekend.

The Green Knights finished tied for fifth out of 13 teams at the Wisconsin Lutheran College Spring Invitational at Morningstar Golfers Club Saturday, then placed tied for third out of 10 teams at the Lake Forest College Forester Spring Invite at White Deer Run Golf Club here Sunday.

At the Wisconsin Lutheran Invite, the Green Knights finished with a 310, just five strokes behind champion Benedictine University's 305. Ben Socha finished tied for second with a 74, one stroke off the medalist. Ben Verbeten finished tied for fifth with a 75.

Alex Okray was tied for 23rd with a 79, while Nick Mueller was tied for 34 with an 82. Nick Roelse was tied for 44th with an 83.

At the Lake Forest Invite, the Green Knights tied for third with a 314. Concordia University Wisconsin won the meet with a 302.

Verbeten tied for sixth with a 75, while Socha was tied for 15th with a 78. Okray was tied for 21st with an 80, while Roelse was tied for 24th with an 81. Mueller was tied for 31st with an 83.
