CHICAGO - St. Norbert College lost both ends of a non-conference doubleheader against the University of Chicago by scores of 4-1 and 6-5 in eight innings at J. Kyle Anderson Field.

St. Norbert (13-12) was held to four hits in the opener by the Maroons' Nick Watson. Troy Rottier was 3-for-3 in the game, which included an RBI double in the sixth inning.

Blake Rutherford took the loss for the Green Knights, allowing seven hits and four runs with two walks and three strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.

St. Norbert got off to a hot start in the nightcap, scoring four runs on four hits in the first inning. The first two runs scored on errors, but Robbie Dombrowski and Ray McDonald added RBI singles later in the inning.

Chicago scored once in the first inning, twice in the third inning and twice again in the fifth inning to take a 5-4 lead. St. Norbert knotted the game in the top of the seventh when a throw to second base on a force play with two outs was late. The Green Knights couldn't pull ahead and left the bases loaded, and ended up losing in the bottom of the eighth inning when an attempted double play throw to first was late.

St. Norbert had 11 hits, with McDonald, Derek Klegin, Brandon Kozinski and Tyler Brown all collecting two hits. Jake McMahon took the loss in an inning of relief.
