MEQUON - St. Norbert College loaded the bases in the ninth inning but couldn't bring home the tying runs as the Green Knights dropped an 8-6 decision to Concordia University Wisconsin in a non-conference game at Kapco Park.

The Green Knights (13-15) left two runners on in the eighth inning and then loaded the bases in the ninth with two outs, but a fielder's choice groundout ended the game. St. Norbert left nine runners on bases in total.

The game got off to a good start for St. Norbert, which scored four runs on four hits in the top of the first inning. Tyler Banovich singled to drive in Derek Klegin, who led off the game with a double. Tyler Brown then had an RBI single, and Sean Grant plated Banovich on a double. Brown scored on a passed ball for the final run.

The Falcons (16-15) answered with two runs in the bottom of the first but St. Norbert got them back in the top of the second. Klegin and Brandon Kozinski both walked to lead off the frame, and Troy Rottier's groundout and Banovich's sacrifice fly brought home the two runs.

St. Norbert wouldn't score the rest of the game, netting just two hits in the final seven innings. Isaac Tewes' three-run double with two outs in the fourth inning but the Falcons ahead 7-6, a lead they would not relinquish.

Klegin led St. Norbert, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Kozinski also scored two runs. Matt Zacharias took the loss, allowing four runs on four hits in 1 2/3 innings of relief.
