Green Knights Fall to Nationally Ranked Gusties

ST. PETER, Minn. - St. Norbert College dropped a 2-0 decision to nationally ranked Gustavus Adolphus College in its first game at the Gustie Soccer Classic at Gustie Soccer Field.

The Green Knights (1-1) were outshot 19-9, and managed to put just two shots on Gustavus Adolphus goalkeeper Anders Severson. Robert Quinlan and Marco Delbecchi each had two shots for St. Norbert.

Gustavus Adolphus (2-0) took a 1-0 lead into halftime after Patrick Leach scored in the 39th minute off a corner kick. The Gusties salted the game away with their second goal, coming in the 75th minute on a marker by Henry Brose.

Eddie Sanchez made six saves for St. Norbert, who will face Viterbo University at 3 p.m. Saturday in its second and final game of the tournament.
