Green Knights Settle for Stalemate at UW-Platteville

PLATTEVILLE - St. Norbert College had a late scoring chance turned away and the Green Knights settled for a 1-1 double-overtime tie with UW-Platteville in a non-conference game at Pioneer Stadium.

St. Norbert (2-1-1) took an early 1-0 lead when Tyler Kassube scored a penalty-kick goal in the 17th minute. The marker was Kassube's second of the season.

Platteville (1-1-3) answered in the 60th minute when Tommy Bitter scored from the top of the penalty area into the left corner for his first goal of the season.

St. Norbert had a strong scoring chance inside the final minute of double overtime, but a Sam Lamers drive was turned away by Pioneers' goalkeeper Scott Sibik.

Both teams had 16 shots. Sibik made six saves for Platteville, while Eddie Sanchez made six saves for the Green Knights. The game was marred by 48 fouls, including 30 on Platteville.
