KENOSHA - Monica Stephans' goal with less than four minutes remaining lifted St. Norbert College to a 3-2 non-conference win over Carthage College at Art Keller Field.

Stephans' goal, her third of the season, came off assists from Katie Vanden Avond and Nicole Beine with just 3 minutes 35 seconds remaining.

Carthage went ahead in the 12th minute when Maggie Washelesky scored for the Lady Reds. St. Norbert drew even at 1-1 when Katie Vanden Avond scored off an assist from Stephans for her 100th career goal, coming at 23:16. Washelesky scored again at 40:30 to send Carthage into halftime with a 2-1 lead.

Vanden Avond scored early in the second half for her 10th goal of the season just four games into the year. Vanden Avond got assists from Stephans and Aimee Conley to score at 48:14.

Vanden Avond's 101 career goals now place her 18th all-time on the NCAA Division III goals list. Just three more goals will move Vanden Avond all the way up into a tie for ninth place.

St. Norbert and Carthage were tied in shots 16-16. Maddie Plinska made eight saves for St. Norbert, while Kate Perry made seven stops for Carthage.
