St. Norbert Rolls Past Carroll and Ripon; Stays Perfect in MWC

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College finished off a sweep of a five-match homestand over the last four days with a pair of Midwest Conference dual wins over Carroll University and Ripon College. The Green Knights topped Carroll 8-1 before going on to blank Ripon 9-0 at Western Racquet and Fitness Club.

The Green Knights (5-2, 4-0 MWC) swept the doubles matches against Carroll. Erika Chitko and Katherine Ake beat Megan Krzewinski and Julia Patzin 8-2 at No. 1, followed by an 8-5 win for Elizabeth Manlick and Anna Gosz over Lauren Miketinac and Alison Lambrecht at No. 2. Katlyn Gahan and Ashley Randazzo topped Samantha Horford and Tiffany Maggioncalda 8-1 at no. 3.

Manlick topped Krzewinski 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles. Chitko earned a three-set win over Miketinac 6-1, 0-6, 6-4 at No. 2, while Ake also needed three sets to beat Shanna Mogden 6-2, 4-6, 10-5. Gosz beat Lambrecht 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5, and Randazzo beat Lauren Goebel 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) at No. 6.

Against Ripon, Chitko and Ake teamed up to beat Ripon's No. 1 duo of Maddie VandenHouten and Morgan Makar 8-0. Gahan and Randazzo also won 8-0 at No. 3, beating Samantha Kiesner and Carly Wesner. Manlick and Gosz beat Courtney Olson and Lucero Pena 8-1 at No. 2.

St. Norbert won three singles matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores. Ake topped Pena at No. 3, Catherine Schaupp beat Abbey Flower at No. 5, and Stephanie Doerfert blanked Tenzin Tsephel at No. 6.
