Green Knights Net Two MWC Doubles Runner-Ups

MADISON - St. Norbert College garnered a pair of runner-ups at the Midwest Conference Doubles Championships at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.

The Green Knights' Elizabeth Manlick and Anna Gosz were runner-up at the No. 2 flight, while Ashley Randazzo and Katlyn Gahan were the runner-up at No. 3.

Manlick and Gosz earned a tough semifinal win over Cornell College's Julie Thome and Gabriella Ferro by a 9-8 score. The duo then lost 8-1 to Lake Forest College's Billie Rodman and Allison Watts in the championship match.

Randazzo and Gahan beat Carroll University's Tiffany Maggiocalda and Samantha Hoyord 8-1 in their semifinal match. The pair dropped an 8-3 decision to Grinnell College's Julia Rumley and Syndey Banach in the championship.

At No. 1 doubles, Erika Chitko and Katherine Ake lost in the semifinals. The pair beat Lawrence University's Shang Li and Lilly Endsley 8-1 in the quarterfinals before losing to Grinnell's Judith Fan and Amelia Cogan 8-5 in the semifinals.

Singles championships will be held Sunday at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
