Green Knights Can't Hold Off No. 2 Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. - St. Norbert College couldn't hang on to a second-period lead as the Green Knights dropped a 4-2 decision to Adrian College in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Arrington Ice Arena.

The Green Knights (1-1, 1-1 NCHA) led 2-1 with two goals in the first four minutes of the second period, but Adrian (2-1, 1-0), ranked No. 2 in the USCHO.com Division III Poll, scored two goals 48 seconds apart midway through the frame.

The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead after the first period when Kaylyn Scrhoka scored 5 minutes 17 seconds into the game.

St. Norbert responded when Lauren Roethlisberger scored 20 seconds into the second period. Reaghan Chadwick followed with a goal at the 3:14 mark to give the Green Knights a 2-1 lead. Adrian got the equalizer at 10:54 off the stick of Sarah Shureb, and Sydney Smith followed at 11:42 for a 3-2 lead.

The Green Knights had two power-play opportunities midway through the third period, but couldn't draw even. Adrian's Logan Taylor sealed the win with a goal at 16:39.

The shots-on-goal total was even at 31-31. Leigh Grall made 27 saves for St. Norbert, while Jade Walsh made 29 stops for the Bulldogs.

Adrian was 2-for-7 on the power play, while St. Norbert was 0-for-4.
