Green Knights Drop Wild Non-Conference Game to Saints

DULUTH, Minn. - St. Norbert College lost a wild 5-4 non-conference game to the College of St. Scholastica at Mars Lakeview Arena.

The Green Knights (1-2) scored tying goals in the second and third periods but each time St. Scholastica would score the next goal to pull ahead. The two teams will play a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at 2 p.m. Saturday.

St. Scholastica (2-2) would take a 2-0 lead in the first period with goals 34 seconds apart by Katie Josephson and Anja Kadijevic at 9:37 and 10:11, respectively. The Green Knights halved their deficit with a power-play goal by Emily Chandler at 13:20, but Kadijevic would get the goal back at 17:14 for a 3-1 Saints lead. Jessica Sherman scored at 17:35 to bring the Green Knights back to within 3-2 at the end of 20 minutes.

Selena Stromer would score at 12:28 of the second period to bring the Green Knights even at 3-3, but the Saints' Taylor Guzzo would score a power-play goal at 16:50 for a 4-3 lead after two periods.

Reaghan Chadwick scored her third goal of the season at 6:31 of the third period, but Abby Sawyer would score the game's eventual game-winning goal at the 12:55 mark.

Chadwick had two assists for a three-point game, while Sherman had an assist for a two-point game.

St. Norbert outshot St. Scholastica 22-14. Leigh Grall started in net for St. Norbert and made two saves in the first period, while Brianna Kelly made seven saves in the last two periods. Kristen Hunt made 18 saves for the Saints.

St. Norbert was 1-for-1 on the power play, while St. Scholastica was 1-for-2.
