St. Norbert Cruises to Sweep Aurora

GENEVA, Ill. - St. Norbert College scored multiple goals in all three periods and went on to post a comfortable 7-1 win over Aurora University in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Fox Valley Ice Arena.

The Green Knights (5-1, 5-1 NCHA) scored three goals in the first period to lead 3-1, and then scored two goals in each of the last two periods to pull away.

Brad Pung got things started when he scored 3 minutes 8 seconds into the game. Michael Hill scored the next two goals for the Green Knights, a power-play marker at 9:12 and an even-strength goal at 11:10. Aurora scored its only goal at 14:52 just 12 seconds after a power-play expired on a goal by Tom Green.

St. Norbert got a pair of goals in the second period, with Pijus Rulevicius scoring at 3:30, followed by Chris Rygus at 4:31.

The Green Knights salted the game away in the third period with goals by Riley Christensen at 6:04 and by Roman Uchyn at 10:45.

Tanner Froese and Jake Larson both had two assists apiece to join Hill with multi-point games for the Green Knights, who put 11 of their 18 skaters on the scoresheet.

St. Norbert outshot Aurora 34-30. T.J. Black made 29 saves for the Green Knights. Matt Bartels started and made nine saves in 24:31 of work, while Jared Rutledge made 18 stops in 35:29 of relief.

St. Norbert was 1-for-3 on the power play, while Aurora was 0-for-8.
