St. Norbert Trio Earns All-Midwest Conference Honors

DE PERE - St. Norbert College had three players named to the All-Midwest Conference team announced today by the league office.

Senior forward Katie Vanden Avond and freshman Monica Stephans were first-team All-MWC selections, while sophomore Sarah Bowles was a second-team All-MWC honoree.

Vanden Avond, a De Pere native and a De Pere High School graduate, leads NCAA Division III this season in goals at 39 and points with 82. Vanden Avond finished her career as the Division III career leader in goals at 130 - the second-highest total in all divisions in NCAA women's soccer history.

Stephans, a Hartford native and a Hartford High School graduate, was second on the team in scoring with eight goals and 15 assists for 31 points.

Bowles, a Libertyville, Ill., native and a Carmel High School graduate, played 19 games as a defender. She scored two assists for two points.

Lake Forest College's Michelle Greeneway was named the MWC Offensive Player of the Year, while Carroll University's Sara Mahoney was named MWC Defensive Player of the Year. Carroll's Susie Foster was named Coach of the Year.
