Season Ends in NCAA Playoff Loss at UW-Whitewater

WHITEWATER - St. Norbert College saw its season come to an end at the hands of two-time defending NCAA Division III national champion UW-Whitewater, dropping a first-round NCAA Division III Playoffs game to the Warhawks 48-0 at Perkins Stadium.

The Warhawks (10-1) scored touchdowns on five of their first six possessions to take a 35-0 lead into halftime on a snowy afternoon in southern Wisconsin.

Jordan Ratliffe scored on a 73-yard run for the Warhawks with 8:04 left in the first quarter, followed by a Chris Nelson 2-yard scramble with 40 seconds left in the quarter for a 14-0 lead. Jarrod Ware and Canton Larson scored on runs of 27 and 61 yards, respectively, and Nelson hit
Tyler Glass on an 8-yard touchdown pass just before halftime for the 35-0 edge.

The Warhawks' Will Meyer kicked a pair of field goals and Ryan Winske returned an interception for a touchdown to close out the scoring.

St. Norbert had a drive reach the Whitewater 4-yard line early in the fourth quarter before an interception thwarted the scoring chance. The Green Knights also reached the Whitewater 10-yard line as the game ended.

Brad Boockmeier led St. Norbert with 56 yards rushing, with the team totaling 142 total on the ground. Jack Becker completed 8 of 24 passes for 132 yards with two interceptions, while Brett Olson caught two passes for 54 yards.

Ratliffe led the Warhawks, who rushed for 412 yards, with 159 yards rushing. Nelson completed 4 of 6 passes for 59 yards and one touchdown. Whitewater outgained St. Norbert 492-274 and had 27 first downs to the Green Knights' 13.

Alec Swanson led St. Norbert with 17 tackles, which included two tackles-for-loss.
