St. Norbert Drops Game to Unbeaten Foresters

DE PERE - St. Norbert College fell behind in the first minute of the game and couldn't muster a rally as the Green Knights fell to Lake Forest College 4-1 in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Resch Olympic Pavilion.

The Green Knights (2-4, 2-3 NCHA) were called for a crosschecking penalty 41 seconds into the game and Lake Forest capitalized with a power-play goal by Michelle Greeneway 17 seconds later.

The Foresters (8-0, 6-0 NCHA) took a 2-0 lead on another power-play goal with Kayla Griffith scoring at 6:46 of the second period. Greeneway pushed Lake Forest ahead 3-0 with a goal at 12:39 of the second period.

St. Norbert's Jessica Schlaff scored her first collegiate goal with 57 seconds gone by in the third period with Jillian Kosteck assisting. The Green Knights couldn't draw nearer, and the Foresters' Alex Stensland scored a shorthanded empty-net goal with 1:30 remaining to seal the win.

Lake Forest outshot St. Norbert 30-16. Leigh Grall made 26 saves for the Green Knights, while Allie Carter made 15 stops for the Foresters.

Lake Forest was 2-for-5 on the power play, while St. Norbert was 0-for-3.
