MINNEAPOLIS - St. Norbert College swept its two-game non-conference series with Augsburg College with a hard-fought 2-0 win at Augsburg Ice Arena.

The Green Knights (8-4) improved their winning streak to six games with the win. It is St. Norbert's longest winning streak since a seven-game winning streak from Jan. 17-Feb. 7, 2014.

St. Norbert would end up getting all the scoring it would need when Abbie Canton registered her first collegiate goal 11 minutes 3 seconds into the first period. Canton finished a rebound off an Emily Bondrager shot.

The Green Knights would make that goal hold up until the waning moments of the game. Augsburg (5-5-1) had 1:26 of extra-attacker time but couldn't get the equalizer, and Reaghan Chadwick scored an empty-net goal with 37 seconds to go for her sixth goal of the season.

Bondrager assisted on both St. Norbert goals, while Jillian Kosteck added a helper on the empty-netter.

St. Norbert outshot Augsburg 17-16. Leigh Grall made all 16 saves for St. Norbert to post the shutout, the third of her career. Rebecca Sonnek made 15 saves for the Auggies.

The Green Knights were 0-for-2 on the power play while Augsburg was 0-for-3.
