Green Knights Blank Blazers for Seventh Straight Win

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - St. Norbert College scored early and then netted three third-period goals to secure its seventh consecutive win with a 4-0 triumph over College of St. Benedict in a non-conference game at Municipal Athletic Complex.

The Green Knights (9-4) matched their longest winning streak since winning seven in a row on Jan. 17-Feb. 7, 2014. The game was the first of a two-game series against the Blazers (3-7-1).

St. Norbert got on the board right away when Lauren Roethlisberger scored for the sixth time this season with a goal 53 seconds into the game.

That marker would hold up all the way into the third period, when Reaghan Chadwick scored her team-high eighth goal of the season with a power-play marker 1:06 into the the final frame. St. Norbert picked up two more insurance goals when Rachael Goodrow scored her first goal of the season at 10:23 and Myranda Hayes converted a power-play chance at 14:24 for her third goal of the year.

Roethlisberger had two assists to finish with a three-point game, while Kylie Gazzolo had two assists.

St. Norbert outshot St. Benedict 45-15. Leigh Grall made 15 saves for the Green Knights to register her second consecutive shutout and her third of the season. Angel Hillstrom made 41 saves for the Blazers.

St. Norbert was 2-for-5 on the power play while St. Benedict was 0-for-2.
