Green Knights Open Season at Pointer Open

STEVENS POINT - St. Norbert College opened the 2016 track and field season with an appearance at the UW-Stevens Point Pointer Open. The meet was an unscored meet featuring the Green Knights, Stevens Point and Marian University.

The Green Knights did well in the sprints, placing highly in all of the events.

St. Norbert swept the top three places in the 200-meter dash. Angel Hon won the event with a time of 27.27 seconds, followed by Sarah Duff in second place at 27.55 seconds and Brittany Kozlowski in third place at 28.63 seconds.

Liz LeCaptain won the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.11 seconds. Hon was third with a time of 8.26 seconds. Duff was second in the 300-meter dash in 43.67 seconds and Kozlowski was third in 43.87 seconds.

St. Norbert also took the top three spots in the 3,000-meter run. Erin Artz won the event with a time of 10:06.48, followed by Taylor Miller in second place in 11:07.19. Tori Nelsen was third with a time of 11:15.06.

Samantha Morateck won the high jump with a clearance of 5 feet 3 inches. Nicole Vanderlin was third with a height of 4-11.

The 4x400-meter relay of Kozlowski, Peyton McCauley, Haley Joosten and Kaitlyn Hintz won the event with a time of 4:17.63. Haidyn Mueller also won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.70 seconds.

Ali Fox placed third in the 1-mile run with a time of 6:44.78. LeCaptain was third in the long jump with a distance of 15-5.
