St. Norbert Begins New Season at Pointer Open

STEVENS POINT - St. Norbert College started the indoor portion of the 2016 track and field season by competing at the UW-Stevens Point Pointer Open.

The meet was an unscored meet including host Stevens Point and Marian University.

The Green Knights claimed the top three places in the 200-meter dash. Jon Gregory won the event with a time of 23.11 seconds, followed by Colin O'Brien in second place with a time of 23.36 seconds and Tyler Lewis in third place in 23.52 seconds.

Gregory also won the 300-meter dash with a time of 36.19 seconds. Ryan Grandlic was third in 37.02 seconds.

Jack Feuerstein won the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.63 seconds, while Anthony Rieder was in third place at 55.82 seconds. Feuerstein added a second-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.77 seconds.

Kevin Schlichter won the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.19 seconds. O'Brien placed third with 7.27 seconds.

Riley Boyce claimed a first-place finish in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:06.09. Andrew Lemay was third with a time of 9:18.26.

Frank Scandin finished in third place in the pole vault by clearing a height of 12 feet 1 1/2 inches. Schlichter was third in the triple jump at 38-11 1/2, while Brad Boockmeier was third in the shot put with a toss of 47-8.
