St. Norbert Sweeps Concordia With Shutout

DE PERE - St. Norbert College finished off the weekend sweep of Concordia University Wisconsin with a 3-0 win in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Cornerstone Community Center.
The Green Knights (16-2-1, 12-2 NCHA), who topped the Falcons 8-1 in the series opener Friday in Mequon, scored two power-play goals in the second game for a total of six in the series.
St. Norbert scored a single goal in each period. The Green Knights got their first goal at the 15:42 mark of the first period when Riley Christensen scored his ninth marker of the season off an assist from Roman Uchyn.
The Green Knights pulled ahead 2-0 in the second period when Alfred Johansson's shot from the point found twin at the 16:29 mark, just 12 seconds after a St. Norbert power play expired. Christensen assisted for his fifth point of the weekend.
Moments after Concordia rung the post on a shorthanded scoring chance, Erik Cooper finished off the counterattack with a power-play goal off an Uchyn pass at 6:35 of the third period.
St. Norbert outshot Concordia 37-13. The Green Knights were 2-for-5 on the power play while Concordia was 0-for-5, which included a major spanning the second and third periods.
T.J. Black recorded his second shutout of the season by making 13 saves. Jack Romanuik made 34 stops for the Falcons.
