Long Jumpers, Relays Lead the Way at UW-Platteville

PLATTEVILLE - St. Norbert College swept the top four places in the long jump and also won a pair of relays to lead the Green Knights effort at the UW-Platteville Select Meet at Williams Fieldhouse.

No team scores were kept.

Kevin Schlichter won the long jump with a distance of 20 feet 4 1/4 inches. Randy Hill finished second with a distance of 20-2 1/2. Tyler Lemens was third at 19-2 3/4, while Travis Heschke was fourth at 18-9 3/4.

The 4x200- and 4x400-meter relays both won their events. The 4x200-meter relay of Jon Gregory, Jack Feuerstein, Ryan Grandlic and Tyler Lewis won with a time of 1:34.15. The 4x400-meter relay of Gregory, Grandlick, Lewis and Feuerstein posted a winning time of 3:27.26.

Hill was third in the triple jump at 43-1 and also in the high jump clearing a height of 6-3 1/4.

Brad Boockmeier finished in second place in the shot put with a toss of 48-7 1/4. He added a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.62 seconds.

Andrew Lemay was second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.97. Riley Boyce was fourth in the 1-mile run at 4:34.06, while Jacob Wittmershaus was fourth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:24.49. Sasha Maro placed fourth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:14.07 and Dan Reigh was sixth at 9.22.92.

Evan Broyles placed third in the weight throw at 50-4 and Dominic DiBenedetto was fifth in the shot put at 43-10 3/4.

Cody Roll was sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with at time of 9.18 seconds and Daniel Butler was seventh in 9.19 seconds. Butler added an eighth-place finish in the triple jump at 35-10.

Frank Scandin was sixth in the pole vault with a height of 12-4 3/4. Taylor Daul finished eighth in the event with a clear of 11-10 3/4.

Tommy Zakowski finished in eighth place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.29 seconds.
