St. Norbert Can't Hold Off Lake Forest

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - St. Norbert College couldn't find a way to slow down Lake Forest College in a 6-3 loss in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.

The Green Knights (12-8, 7-6 NCHA) fell behind 3-0 and eventually got back to within 4-2 but couldn't draw closer than a two-goal deficit in the loss to the Foresters (18-1-1, 13-0).

Allie Girard gave Lake Forest a 1-0 lead after one period with a goal at 13:37. Alex Stensland and Amy Budde scored power-play goals at 5:09 and 7:03 of the second period as Lake Forest led 3-0. St. Norbert's Allie Patrick scored an unassisted goal at 13:50 to bring the Green Knights to within 3-1 after two periods.

Lake Forest's Michelle Greeneway scored shorthanded at 1:56 of the third period for a 4-1 lead, but Jillian Kosteck scored a power-play goal at 7:46 to bring the Green Knights to within two. Holly Lesperance scored at 9:24 for Lake Forest, followed by a Lauren Roethlisberger goal for St. Norbert at 16:37.

Greeneway's empty-net goal with 47 seconds left was the game's final goal.

Patrick added an assist for a two-point game for the Green Knights.

Lake Forest outshot St. Norbert 27-13. Brianna Kelly made 21 saves for the Green Knights, while Allie Carter made 10 stops for the Foresters.

St. Norbert was 1-for-3 on the power play and Lake Forest was 2-for-4.
