LAKE FOREST, Ill. - St. Norbert College clinched no less than a share of the Midwest Conference women's basketball title for 2015-16 with a 61-38 win over Lake Forest College at LFC Sports Center.

The Green Knights (17-4, 16-0 MWC) have at least a piece of a 14th MWC championship, extending their league record. It's also the 18th conference title in 39 seasons for Connie Tilley, whose teams won four Wisconsin Independent Colleges-Women's Athletic Conference titles prior to joining the MWC.

St. Norbert, which has won 44 of its last 45 games against a MWC opponent, can clinch the outright league title as well as hosting responsibility for the Midwest Conference Tournament on Feb. 26-27 with one win in its last two games.

The Green Knights led from start to finish. Regan Carmichael scored St. Norbert's first points, followed by a Jill Kleiman 3-pointer. Mallory Nickerson's hoop with 6:18 left in the first quarter put the Green Knights ahead 7-0. The Foresters wouldn't score until the 4:25 mark of the quarter on a Michelle Ricolcol hoop. Stephanie Weigman's basket gave St. Norbert a 13-10 lead after 10 minutes.

St. Norbert had a pair of 10-point leads in the second quarter, but the Foresters trimmed the deficit to four with 2:59 left in the period on a Taylor Farrell 3-pointer. St. Norbert went on a quick 4-0 run on a basket by Kyra VandenHeuvel and a pair of free throws by Jill Kleiman. The Green Knights led 30-22 at halftime.

The Green Knights would maintain their double-digit lead throughout the entire second half. Heidi Van Sistine had a pair of baskets on consecutive possessions and Brianna Byrne added a pair of free throws with 1:08 left in the third quarter for a 44-28 lead.

Lake Forest got to within 13 points early in the fourth quarter, but St. Norbert held the Foresters scoreless for nearly five minutes to seal the win.
