Green Knights Finish Off Sweep of Finlandia

DE PERE - St. Norbert College collected a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association weekend series sweep of Finlandia University with a 5-0 win at Resch Olympic Pavilion.

The Green Knights (14-8-1, 9-6-1 NCHA) clinched the No. 3 seeding for the NCHA Slaats Cup Playoffs, with the semifinal round held the weekend of Feb. 26-28.

St. Norbert grabbed the lead just 50 seconds into the game on a goal by Jessica Schalff, her third of the season. The marker would be the only scoring in the game's first 20 minutes.

The Green Knights broke the game open with a three-goal second period. Jillian Kosteck scored an unassisted goal at the 6:14 mark for her seventh goal of the season. Kenna Farrey then scored her first collegiate goal with a tally at 11:25. Emily Bondrager then scored 17 seconds later for her third goal of the season and a 4-0 lead.

Kylie Gazzolo scored her sixth goal of the season for the third period's only score, coming at the 8:41 mark.

Bondrager added an assist for a two-point game, while Emily Chandler had two assists.

St. Norbert outshot Finlandia 57-10. Leigh Grall made all 10 saves for the shutout for the Green Knights, while Taylor Gustafson made 52 saves for the Lions.

St. Norbert was 0-for-4 on the power play and Finlandia was 0-for-3.
