Green Knights Second After Day 1 at MWC Indoor Championship

GALESBURG, Ill. - St. Norbert College is in second place through seven events on the first day of the Midwest Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship at Knox College's T. Fleming Fieldhouse.

The Green Knights totaled 45 points on Day 1, trailing Monmouth College's 57 points. Grinnell College and Lawrence University are tied for third place with 25 points.

Randy Hill placed second in the long jump to lead St. Norbert individually. Hill finished with a leap of 21 feet 7 1/4 inches.

The 4x200-meter relay of Jon Gregory, Ryan Grandlic, Jack Feuerstein and Colin O'Brien placed second with a time of 1:30.97. The 1,600-meter spring medley was third. Gregory, Grandlic, Tyler Lewis and Tommy Zakowski turned in a time of 3:41.53.

Frank Scandin was fourth in the pole vault with a height of 13-6 1/4, while Taylor Daul was seventh with a clearance of 12-6.

Dominic DiBenedetto was fourth in the shot put with a distance of 48-8 3/4. Evan Broyles was seventh with a toss of 46-3 1/4.

Andrew Lemay placed sixth in the 1-mile run with a time of 4:28.56 and Sasha Maro was eighth at 4:30.08.

Brad Boockmeier was eighth in the long jump with a distance of 19-3 1/4.
