ADRIAN, Mich. - St. Norbert College couldn't crack the scoring column and allowed a pair of third-period goals to fall to Adrian College 2-0 in the championship game of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Slaats Cup Playoffs at Arrington Ice Arena.

The Green Knights, playing in the NCHA Playoffs championship game for the third time in four seasons, saw their season end 15-9-4. Adrian, ranked No. 2 in the USCHO.com Division III Poll, earned the NCHA's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Each team had a power-play opportunity in the first period and Adrian added another chance in the second period, but neither team scored to remain scoreless after 40 minutes.

Adrian (25-2-1) had another power-play chance early in the third period but didn't covert. The Bulldogs broke through at the 11:49 mark of the third when Shelly Czarnowczan's shot from the point found twine for her second goal of the season.

Adrian had another power-play chance soon thereafter but the Bulldogs committed a major penalty to give St. Norbert a power play of 3:43 in length. The Adrian defense stood firm, with the penalty expiring with 1:40 remaining.

With 1:30 left Kaylyn Schroka scored an empty-net goal to seal the win for the Bulldogs.

Reaghan Chadwick, Myranda Hayes and Leigh Grall were all named to the Slaats Cup Playoffs All-Tournament Team following the game.

Adrian outshot St. Norbert 33-27. Grall made 31 saves for the Green Knights, while Jade Walsh made 27 stops for the Bulldogs.
