St. Norbert Swept on Second Day in Florida

CLERMONT, Fla. - St. Norbert College lost a pair of games on its second day of action in Florida, losing to College of St. Scholastica 9-0 and Williams College 10-2.

The Green Knights (0-4) and Saints (6-6) were locked in a 0-0 game through four innings before St. Scholastica broke through with two runs in the fifth inning. The Saints then added seven runs on six hits in the top of the sixth inning to salt the game away.

St. Norbert had two hits, with Gina Mastrodomenico and Amanda Van Handel each collecting singles. Lexi LeCalsey took the loss, allowing nine hits and six runs with two walks and two strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings pitched.

Against Williams (6-0), St. Norbert scored two runs in the first inning on a two-run double by Emily Laufer to score Mastrodomenico and Morgan Schillinger.

The Ephs would pull away with four runs in the second inning followed by two runs in the third, one run in the fifth and three runs in the sixth inning.

St. Norbert finished with three hits. Francesca Marrese took the loss for the Green Knights, working 4 1/3 innings pitched allowing six hits, seven runs and one walk.
