AUBURNDALE, Fla. - St. Norbert College sophomore Jason Malkowski worked eight shutouts innings in his first collegiate start as the Green Knights posted a 6-1 win over Hope College.

Malkowski held the Flying Dutchmen to just three hits over eight innings, with three walks and three strikeouts.

St. Norbert (2-3) gave Malkowski all the runs he would need by scoring two in the third inning. Sean Grant's sacrifice fly plated Griffin Jack, while Tyler Banovich's double scored Derek Klegin.

The Green Knights added to their lead with a pair of runs in the seventh inning to take a 4-0 lead. Hunter Larson scored on an error and Banovich squeezed in Adam Enwiya with the fourth run.

Klegin then had a run-scoring single in the eighth inning and Banovich added a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning. Hope scored a consolation run in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Klegin was 3-for-5 while Enwiya was 2-for-5 with two runs scored. Banovich drove in three runs and Jack scored two runs with two stolen bases.
