Longball Problematic for Green Knights Against Greenville

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - St. Norbert College allowed five home runs en route to a 10-5 loss to Greenville College on the Green Knights' final day of its Florida trip.

St. Norbert (3-5) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning when Sean Grant had an RBI double and Adam Enwiya's run-scoring single. Greenville's Mike Hardin then hit the first of his three home runs on the day in the bottom of the first inning.

The Green Knights added to their lead when Derek Klegin had an RBI single in the top of the second inning.

Greenville grabbed the lead for good with a five-run third inning, including another solo shot by Hardin and a two-run home run by Trevor Montgomery.

After Greenville added another run in the fourth inning, St. Norbert cut the deficit to 7-5 with two runs in the sixth inning. Griffin Jack had a sacrifice fly and Klegin added another RBI single.

Greenville salted the game away with two runs in the seventh inning and one run in the eighth inning.

Klegin was 3-for-5 to lead St. Norbert, which had eight hits. Tyler Brown was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two doubles.

Eric Feldner took the loss, allowing eight hits and six runs in two-plus innings.
