Green Knights Drop Heartbreaker at Edgewood

MADISON - St. Norbert College lost a tough 5-4 decision to Edgewood College in a non-conference dual meet at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.

The Green Knights (14-5) lost three three-set singles matches to tip the final score in the favor of the Eagles (14-8).

St. Norbert took two doubles points. Katlyn Gahan and Stephanie Doerfert beat Madeline George and Jaclyn Swift 8-1 at No. 2. Claire Hetzel and Maggie Krummel topped Marissa Wilson and Haley Brooks 8-6 at No. 3.

Erika Chitko defeated Morgan Wilson 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, while Doerfert beat Brooks 6-3, 6-2 at No. 4.

St. Norbert couldn't get the elusive fifth win. Anna Miles beat Manlick 7-5, 5-7, 10-5 at No. 2 singles, while Gahan fell 3-6, 6-0, 10-5 to Swift at No. 3. Krummel then lost a tough 7-5, 2-6, 10-8 match to Rhea Bradley at No. 6 singles.
