St. Norbert Falls to Lawrence in Rain-Shortened Day

APPLETON - St. Norbert College lost to Lawrence University 6-4 in a Midwest Conference North Division game at Whiting Field. The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was rained out, with a potential make-up date unknown at this time.

St. Norbert scored in in the first inning when Adam Enwiya drew a bases-loaded walk, but the Green Knights left the bases loaded in the inning.

The Vikings answered with two runs in the third inning to take a 2-1 lead but St. Norbert responded with two runs in the top of the fifth inning. Sean Grant drove in a run on a RBI double while Enwiya added a sacrifice fly.

Lawrence pulled ahead for good with a four-run sixth inning. St. Norbert mounted a last-ditch rally in the ninth inning, with one run in and having the potential tying runs in scoring position when the game ended.

St. Norbert had seven hits in the game, with Tyler Banovich going 3-for-5. Jason Malkowski took the loss, allowing six hits with four earned runs in five innings pitched.
