LISLE, Ill. - St. Norbert College couldn't quite generate enough offense in a 2-1 non-conference at Benedictine University to close out the regular season.

The loss was tempered by the fact that St. Norbert discovered it will host the Midwest Conference Baseball Tournament Friday and Saturday in De Pere thanks to Beloit College splitting its doubleheader today with Ripon College. First-round games are set for 9:45 and 10 a.m. Friday with games following at 1 and 4 p.m. Saturday games are scheduled for 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

St. Norbert (19-15) and Benedictine (20-18) were scoreless through six innings before the Green Knights got on the board when a Robbie Dombrowski RBI double scored Tyler Brown in the top of the seventh inning.

Benedictine answered with a run in the bottom of the seventh on a two-out RBI single by Kyle Bock. The Eagles got the winning run on a run-scoring single by Nick Severino.

St. Norbert outhit Benedictine 11-6. Dombrowski was 3-for-4, while Derek Klegin, Tyler Banovich and Adam Enwiya all had two hits apiece.

Eric Feldner took the tough-luck loss, allowing just five hits and two runs in 7 1/3 innings pitched. He walked one and struck out two.
