Banovich, McMahon Lead St. Norbert on All-MWC North Team

DE PERE - St. Norbert College placed four players on the 2016 All-Midwest Conference North Division baseball team and also swept the top player honors announced today by the league office.

Sophomore infielder Tyler Banovich was named MWC North Division Player of the Year, while junior pitcher Jake McMahon was named MWC North Division Pitcher of the Year. Junior infielder Derek Klegin and senior infielder Adam Enwiya joined Banovich and McMahon on the team.

Banovich, a Midlothian, Ill., native, is hitting .431 overall this season with nine doubles, one home run and 38 runs batted in. Banovich, who hit .532 in MWC North play this season, also has a .523 overall on-base percentage.

McMahon, a Marinette native, is 4-4 overall this season with a 2.07 earned run average and .210 batting average against. In 65 1/3 innings pitched, he has allowed 50 hits and 13 walks with 59 strikeouts. In MWC North play, McMahon was 3-1 with a 1.05 earned run average and .190 batting average against.

Klegin, also a Marinette native, is hitting .292 overall this season while scoring a team-high 34 runs while batting in the leadoff position. Klegin, who has 17 stolen bases overall, hit .338 with 23 runs scored in MWC North action. It is Klegin's third career All-MWC North Division honor.

Enwiya, a McHenry, Ill., native, is hitting .306 overall while hitting eight doubles and two home runs with 33 runs batted in. Enwiya, who has just four errors in 296 defensive chances this year, hit .387 and had a league-high 26 runs batted in in MWC North play this season.

St. Norbert is 19-15 overall heading into Friday's MWC Tournament in De Pere.
