St. Norbert Nets Win In Season Opener

WAUWATOSA - St. Norbert College picked up a comfortable win in its season opener by posting a 4-1 non-conference win over Wisconsin Lutheran College.
The Green Knights jumped out to an early lead when Morgan Edge scored off an assist from Aimee Conley mark just 7 minutes 4 seconds into the match. St. Norbert pushed out to a 2-0 lead when Monica Stephans scored the first of her two goals off a helper from Dana Schwab at 19:05.
St. Norbert went ahead 3-0 when Schwab scored off a Stephans feed moments later at 21:22. Wisconsin Lutheran would cut into the deficit at 3-1 when Helen Joyce scored at 33:18.
Stephans scored the second half's only goal at the 60:33 mark, with Clare Cuene assisting.
St. Norbert outshot Wisconsin Lutheran 25-5 and had an 11-3 edge in corner kicks. Maddie Plinska and Ally Magiera combined for the win in goal for the Green Knights, while Hailey Krause made seven saves for the Warriors.
